The baroque city of Fulda and the Rhön Biosphere Reserve have an unrivalled wealth of sights. The natural beauty is evident in many places, and the viewpoints of the surrounding area are always popular with visitors to the region. Overlooking the famous Wasserkuppe, the location of our hotel is already an attraction. Many other interesting places such as the Milseburg, the Steinwand, the ruins of Ebersburg Castle, the Point Alpha Memorial, the Gersfeld Wildlife Park or the artists’ village of Kleinsassen are located nearby.
Dipperz
Dipperz is a cozy, small community in the East Hessian district of Fulda and also known as the “Gate to Rhön”. Located in the heart of Germany, our location is an excellent base to explore the surrounding area. The baroque city of Fulda and the motorway connection are only a few minutes away by car.
City of Fulda
Fulda awaits visitors to the region with a charming mix of modern Hessian lifestyle and baroque attractions. Places such as the cathedral, the idyllic castle garden or the baroque quarter are considered flagships of their era. In the city centre there is a wonderful contrast between historic half-timbered houses and modern residential and commercial buildings.
Events
Dipperz is a very active municipality with a well-filled calendar. Guided tours, theatre evenings, wine festivals or the dance in May are simply part of it. On the pages of the administration, visitors get an overview of when and where the next events will take place.
The Rhoen
The Rhön connects Hesse with the neighbouring federal states of Bavaria and Thuringia. The characteristic mountain ranges are a unique natural monument in Europe. Therefore, the mountain range was also designated a protected biosphere reserve by UNESCO. The extensive landscapes inspire with their rich flora and fauna.
Sightseeing
City of Fulda
The most famous sights of the city are undoubtedly the Cathedral of Fulda and the baroque city castle with the associated castle garden. Orangery and Floravase mark the building and the sculpture at the northern end of the garden and form a fairytale ensemble there. In addition, there are a whole series of beautiful places that you should not miss when visiting Fulda. The remains of the medieval city wall, the witch tower and the surrounding streets are considered the oldest surviving evidence of settlement. The Frauenberg and the Franciscan monastery are considered landmarks of the city and can also be visited.
